How do I calculate the density of my shipment?

Clink on the link to utilize the caculator for the easy way or you can calculate manually by following these instructions.  First, multiply together the length, width and height of the piece you are shipping (LxWxH = X).  Then divide that number by 1,728 (X divided by 1,728 = cubic feet) and finally divide the weight of your shipment by the cubic feet.  Example of a 500 lb pallet with dimensions of 40 x 48 x 60:  Multiply 40 x 48 x 60 = 115200.  115200 divided by 1,728 = 66.66.  500 lbs divided by 66.66 = 7.5 and this is the density of your shipment.

How do I calculate the dimensional weight of my domestic shipment?

Click on the link to utilize the calculator for the easy way or you can calculate it manually by multiplying the length, width and height of your package and then dividing the total by 166.  This will give you the dimensional weight of your domestic shipment.  Compare it to the actual weight and whichever number is higher will be used when calculating the rate.
